Happy Easter from the Manual Mater Maker!

Turns out the Easter Bunny likes Mater Babies too!

As you can see the Mater Babies are happy and healthy in their "Diet Sun" today.  Tomorrow it'll be 70 degrees with clear skies.  These beauties will hit the front porch by morning.  Till then, a warm 80 degrees in the Manual Mater Maker will keep them safe from that dreadful friend of The Mater Master - Jack Frost!

Knock.. Knock.. Who's There?

Super Seven!  That's Who!

Now that the mater babies have graduated into spacious buckets and real soil (not that Jiffy Mix stuff they were born in) they are growing about an inch a day in the Manual Mater Maker.  I've been stuck in a cycle of bucket moving, light raising and frequent watering to keep up with them.  Whew they are a lot of work!  But that's the way it is when you are the Mamma to a family of growing mater babies.  It's about sacrifice.

Okay, it's also about the BEER.

As you can see they are ready to go outside.  If Jack Frost would just cut me a break I could kick these little birdies out of the nest and put my feet up!  But it's not time.  So we'll wait, we still have plenty of room in the Manual Mater Maker.

Speaking of birdies, how about a bird's eye view?  The first photo doesn't do a good job at showing you how leafy and green they are.
(I was fighting the sun a bit.)

This pic is for the brag book.

Bucket Brigade

Allow me to Introduce the Bucket Brigade!

Yes, they've moved again.  It seems that I just can't contain this Super Seven!  With shiny new pots and their own nameplates, not only are my maters working on a fabulous root system, they're looking darn good doing it!

Now I know what you're thinking.  "Sherrie, those maters look like they are almost out of room in the Manual Mater Maker!  They are just too big!"  But I tell you, my mega light raises another 2 feet and my table drops another three.  We can hang out here for another month if we have to!

Spring take your time, we're good.

Cranberry seems to be smiling again!  She's buried up to her leaves in luscious soil and has her sights on being first to the prize!

Show Me the Money!

Well Manual Mater Maker followers, here's that dime I promised.  The Mater-Master pointed out that I neglected to include it in my last photo, so I'm here to make things right.

Can you see it??  I know it's tough with all that leafy green good stuff towering over it, but it's there... actual size.  Maybe I should move up to a dollar?

While we're talking money, the investor just received the power bill for last month.  Fortunately for me our power company includes a monthly comparison from the year prior, so he was able to compare to the "dime" how much this little contest has cost us.  Needless to say I could have bought myself several 12 packs of beer and still saved him money with the difference.  He tells me that I'd better win.  I tell him, "I will."

Funny how that basic light is making so many happy mater babies.  Just toss em' under and watch em' grow!  Lil water, Lil dirt.  Hmmmmm.

Did you Miss Us?

Well Manual Mater Maker followers, we're back!

It was an act of tough love, but our strike proved successful.  After 13 days, the Mater-Master finally posted a pic of his maters.  Thankfully for you Mike, they are still alive, otherwise you'd be the focus of ALL my smack!  No one should have to endure that.

So let's get to what you've all been waiting for.  The latest pic of my mater plants.  They are quite the lookers don't you think?  Nice and green and mmmmm they smell so good.  Mater-Master, I hate to ask, but how do yours smell?

And a nice close up.  This one is smiling.  (:

As you can see we've had some nice temps, so the mater babies are getting lots of rays from Mr. Sunshine.  Will be tough to catch us if this weather keeps up.

The Manual Mater Maker is on STRIKE!

It's TRUE!  Team Manual Mater Maker is calling a STRIKE!

The FACT LIST:
  • The Mater-Master has not posted a photo of his maters in THIRTEEN DAYS!
  • The Mater-Master is a "professional photographer" yet he can't  decide what lens to use.
  • He made a comment on his last post that he couldn't take photos of his maters today due to all the rain, yet in his "Tea Tutorial" it was so sunny he was squinting.  The two posts were 30 minutes apart!
  • The Mater-Master will post photos of lettuce, cauliflower  peas, worm houses, worms, worm eggs, and oh my, lots of worm poop, but not of maters.
  • He is worried about putting a dime beside his plants.

Something stinks.. and it ain't the worm poo.  Either those maters are so tiny he's ashamed of them, or HE KILLED THEM!

Team Manual Mater Maker is on STRIKE; we will not post photos of our ginormous maters until the Mater-Master proves his innocence.

Until then, please enjoy a few photos that I took with my camera of anything that I could find...  other than maters:

My Dog:
My Cat:
My Cukes:
Wow those are some great cukes!
But absolutely NO maters.

Port-a-Potty Poke!

Mike it is officially your turn!

I had to think long and hard on how to poke fun of your Port-a-Potty-Planter... oh, I mean "SIP".  It's obviously a funny sight, but how to crack on it all the way up here in NC?  Well that takes some thought.

Eureka!  Introducing my SIIP (Sh*t-In-It-Planter).  If The Mater Matic can make a sh*t bucket and call it innovation, so can I.  Unlike yours, my invention has a self-fertilization capability.  "Organic fertilizer of course!" I wonder if my co-workers would be interested in me making some for them?

Ah, you guys with your inventions are just making it too easy for me!

Who wants to see some gorgeous maters?  Might as well, no one else is posting mater photos.  Now why is that?

A Really "Offensive" Tactic

This week my competitors have been working hard on their "Offensive Tactics" in an effort to win the Great Tomato Race.

Mike with his port-a-potty planter and Dad with his tee-tee tea have high hopes of catching Team Manual Mater Maker with their bathroom antics.  In the spirit of competition and with a hefty below the belt attack on Team Mater Masterallow me to introduce...

Voo-Doo-Doo Worm!
The design concept is simple, attack the ass-ets and cripple production.  Mater Master you need light and poop.  My one-two punch of rain dancing and a strategically placed pin into Voo-Doo-Doo Worm should be a knockout!  Dad your worms should be feeeeling veeery constipated.

Mike you're next!

Butt, while we're here, let's have a look at what's brewing in the Manual Mater Maker.  Quarters anyone?

Wow that's some healthy movement!!

Manual Mater Maker Disclaimer #1:  No voo-doo was used in the making of this post.  If however it offends you, we would like to say with genuine sincerity... tough sh#t!

Manual Mater Maker Disclaimer #2:  For those Mater Master followers who are a little slow on the joke uptake, I highlighted all cracks and potty words in green for your reading pleasure.

There's Something About "Sherrie"

Is it me or is it the Manual Mater Maker?  I can't help but think that my green thumb might have something to do with it!

Let's have a closer look...

Now I'm no expert, (although from the look of these giants I would appear to be...)  but competitors, I think I'm more than " gimme week" ahead.  Plot what you will on your blog, but them maters are going to be tough to catch.  Mike, Dad thinks he can catch up with poop... what-chu got?

Oh by the way.. it was mentioned in the Mater-Master blog that my deadly photon light killed two mater babies before they had a chance to peek out.  Have a good look in the middle Mater-Master, it appears that the Manual Mater Maker brought one back to life!  Meet "Bashful".  Now there are eight!  (And no, I didn't re-seed the cell, but I did laugh really hard when I saw him!)  I'll let you know if "Sleepy" ever wakes up.

Well let me run, today is a busy day... the maters are moving into a bigger place and I promised to help.  Will post a photo of their new digs once they get settled in.

Try to see things from my perspective...

Just in case you two fancy pants have forgotten my brand, I thought I'd incorporate it into my next photo.  I'll say no more; it's been a challenging weekend for the "auto-maters" of the group.

Besides, the photo says it all!!
