The Investor Cut My Heat!

Well it was a good run Manual Mater Maker followers - using a standard floor heater to keep my babies toasty and warm.  But the Investor with his dollar clenched fists gave me an ultimatum; reduce my Watts or scrap the project.  Remember his focus on the bottom line?  Well that includes the power bill.  (I suppose I'll just have to drink all that cold winning beer myself - he's so short sighted.)

Nothing that a little trip to the big orange HD won't fix.  A five-fold reduction in Watts using a cheap clamp light and heat bulb should keep him quiet for a while.  That is... until he sees June's water bill.  Good thing he likes my salsa!

In other news.. here's what Happy Maters look like.  Check out the true leaves on those babies!!  Anyone else have happy maters?  Hey Dad, feeling a little cloudy today?  How's that "real sunshine" working out for you?  Shame you can't turn it on and off with a switch!  (Go Garage Maters!)

I see you are getting the hang of that close-up lens stuff! Anyway, yeah it is cloudy today but behind every cloud is a silver lining. Keep in mind that yours are (7) days older. Twice as old as mine! Yours were just breaking ground at seven days. Don't let your self get too confident.

Just for info - to calculate your power cost for the light, take the watts 250 times the hours you run it - 24 hrs. Divide all of that by 1,000. That will give you kilowatts-hours used in one day. Times that by your cost per kilowatt-hour which is usually somewhere between $0.06 and $0.08. So the total cost per day for your heat light might be about $0.50 per day or $15.00 per month. I know its a geek thing but it is helpful to know.

Okay... well don't tell the Investor that, he just forked out $20 to save $15!
